If there is anything my opinion should be trusted on aside from brews, it should be movies. On Friday night I went and saw Logan, it was excellent. The action was great as you would expect from a Marvel movie, but the drama and the acting were fantastic. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and even that little girl who played Laura/ X-23 all knocked it out of the park. Go check it out, you’ll enjoy the hell out of it.
Also, prior to the movie there was a teaser for Deadpool 2, which is available online. Watch it. It’s damn funny.
With that I bring you a guide to Trillium, the superb brewery in Canton, MA!
Nestled in an office park just past University Ave. lays Trillium Brewing, taunting those stuck in their cubicle during the day knowing that magic is happening just next door. As you enter the big brick building, you’ll notice two courses you could take. To the right, there’s a bar for you to get yourself a selection of beverages in a sample or full pour size. If you go to the left and down the long open area were people congregate once they have their drink, you get to the counter that you can purchase cans, growler fills and merch. The whole L shaped room is reclaimed wood-paneled and steel accented and looks all kinds of pretty. The windowed sides of the room have a bar top down the length of them while the inside walls have a few barrel tables and steel stools usually providing plenty of room to place your drink down. If it’s a weekend, you may end up being shit out of luck, but that’s the price you pay for wanting quality beer sometimes.
Quality certainly is a great way to describe the brews they create. On the multiple occasions I have been, I’ve tried quite a few of them. They have many different styles, but it seems like my favorites, a surprise to no one that has been reading, tend to be the dark beers. Not currently on tap, the Secret Stairs is a great stout, it hits every mark you’d expect, but does it exceedingly well. TrillBOMB! Imperial Stout has the coffee, cocoa and vanilla aspects, but adds in a chili kick to it that doesn’t overwhelm (like the one I had from Union Station may). It’s a pretty amazing brew. My favorite of the bunch is the PM Dawn Stout with Cold Brewed Coffee. It tastes like a mocha coffee and is super smooth with almost zero bitterness. It’s fantastic, I can’t recommend it enough.
I’d be lying to say it was easy to pick the top 3 here, I’ve liked almost everything I’ve had there. The sours and IPA are all great as well. Bottom line, you’ll enjoy whatever you get there. So go try it soon!
