New Beer This Week
BHZ is going full on genius pun this week with their new release, Johann Sebastian Bock:
Bock is a collaboration inspired by our friends at the Boston Guitar Orchestra. With a beautiful copper amber color, this bock has nice upfront bread-y character. Caramel sweetness and pronounced dark fruit & cherry notes from the German lager yeast’s fruity esters.
Da Bomb food truck from 5-9:30pm and Pat & Mal Fey playing 6:30 – 9:30pm.
Sarcastic Swine from 2 – 8pm & music from Andrew O’Keeffe from 6:30 – 9:30pm
Mangia will be back for another Beer & Brunch from 1 – 5pm!
Manny of Mangia will be rolling in and we’ll have some great pairings! Great way to prevent holiday shopping fatigue.

Next, an offseason return to of a brew I’m a big fan of, Joybringer Tripel:

New Beer Release
A third batch of the Storms Brett Sour, infeRIority Complex is out now!
infeRIority complex, a Brett beer, is doses with Canada Rye and crisp Dextrin malts, the base of this beer was Belgian inspired with a spicy, slick and slightly sweet mouthfeel. Aged Czech Saaz hops were incorporated to balance out the sweetness from these malts and lend a pleasant earthy tone that blends well with the flavors emanating from the barrel. After lying in Thomas Tew Rum barrels for 4 months, Brettanomyces yeast was introduced and quickly got to work adding elements of stone fruit and cherry to the brew. Very initial tests showed a pronounced sourness to the beer so aging time was extended to mellow out its complexities and impart balance between the barrel and its contents. This style of beer is one that cannot be rushed so brewers waited diligently for it to show them when it was ready to make its debut. So without further adieu, let us introduce Newport Storm’s, and arguably RI’s, most complex beer to date. ABV 7%
Grab yourself some Prometheus, a Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout, in the taproom before they sell out!
Aged in oak barrels for four months and then cellared for seven, our Imperial Russian Stout is bold and smooth. It’s warm, hefty body is complimented by notes of bourbon and dark cherry. 12% ABV, available in 22 oz bombers only in the Whalers Taproom while supplies last!
