Beer News and Brew Guide Notes
Going in Blind!
Last Saturday I was invited to take part in a mystery blind taste test at the Craft Beer Cellar homebase in Belmont, all being held thanks to the Mass Brew Bros. That mysterious style? Massachusetts brewed pumpkin beer! It was a great time with a very surprising outcome as to who got the top vote. Go check it out over at MassBrewBros.com!
Brew Guide Goes West
This weekend, New England Brew Guide goes west to Las Vegas to go take in the Bruins first battle with the newly minted Las Vegas Golden Knights! With that, if you know any good breweries or stores where I can grab good beer near The Strip, please let me know!
New Release Wednesday – Pitchfork – American Wheat ABV 4.6%
A crisp & refreshing pour. Soft breadiness from wheat. Zesty, citrus notes thanks to orange peel sharing time in the kettle with Hallertau. Hazy, unfiltered.
And as usual, the Joneses will be in the house to provide the music to your Wednesday night!
Thursday night is Stump Trivia night, now at a new time, 7 – 9pm!
Check out singer/songwriter Fil Pacino (6:30 – 9:30) and Little Carmen’s Mexican Tapas (5-9:30)
Even more music and grub on Saturday, with Danny Gallagher & Conor Smith (6:30 – 9:30) and the always popular Mangia Food truck (5 – 9:30)
Thursday marks the triumphant return of Bullhead Vienna-style ale!
This week it’s So Nude’s turn in the cask, dry hopped with Nugget hops!
Friday night marks another return, as Buenas Empanadas comes back to BUBco. with their South American inspired empanadas from 5 – 10.
It’s time to get pickled on Saturday with Cauldron Fermented Foods sampling all their jarred goodies from 2 – 8.
Dorchester Brewing is no stranger to interesting event, and Friday is no exception with the Freaky Friday Art Show!
We love a good Friday the 13th, especially so close to Halloween! Join us on Friday October 13th for an art show with Steph Harlow from 7-10pm. Steph is a Resin Artist who uses acrylics, resin, and inks combined with a blowtorch. Good mix, right? We think you’ll enjoy her work! We’ll also have M&M Ribs as the night’s Food Truck from 5-9pm.
The really cool Original Gravity Concert Series, featuring the compositions from Steven Snowden, will be at the brewery from 7 – 9 pm
Drink for a good cause as Exhibit ‘A’ submits their entry into the Black Ale Project with Hard Corps. imperial stout, aged for 9 months in rye and corn whiskey barrels. All proceeds from this beer go to Homes for Our Troops.
The Pangea food truck rolls in to keep you from going hungry from 2 – 7!
Saturday & Sunday
Join Newport Storm for their Fall Weekend at the brewery, with Fall Storm of the Season beers and warm Thomas Tew cocktails being serving at the taproom and pavilion.
Join Whalers Brewing for a fall beer dinner at Waterman Grille!
